Forsyth Farmers’ Market
Approximately 35,000 people in Savannah, Georgia, struggle with food and nutrition insecurity. Communities where residents experience food and nutrition insecurity are known as food apartheid areas. Forsyth Farmers’ Market is a non-profit organization in Savannah that helps improve access to local fresh affordable produce to support the health of the community. The market allows SNAP recipients to double their SNAP dollars at the market and make their dollar stretch further.
Forsyth Farmers’ Market hosts pop-up food distributions in the community throughout the month in collaboration with the City of Savannah and other local organizations working to support improving food access. Find out more about Forsyth Farmers’ Markets work here: https://www.
