SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Young men across our area learned more about their health and protecting themselves from HPV.

The illness known as human papillomavirus can be prevented through vaccination which these young men learned about at Tuesday’s meeting with Healthy Savannah.

“When we mention HPV there is a misconception that it is a female issue but it is male and female. So we wanted to carry that message and show individuals that work with males that both genders need to be aware. Both genders need to take care of themselves as it relates to the HPV virus,” said Operations Manager of Healthy Savannah, Dr. Else Smalls.

At Tuesday’s discussion the group talking about the impacts of HPV and the health concerns related with the virus.
