Serenity Gardens of Savannah, Inc Announces Half Century Ride
A metric century cycling event starting in the heart of beautiful downtown Savannah and rides over three outlining cities: Garden City, Bloomingdale and Pooler taking cyclist past the Mighty Eighth, and the Veterans Memorial located in Bloomingdale and Pooler and completing the ride back in downtown Savannah in front of City Hall. The event is stated to provide a unique opportunity to ride, have fun, see a bit of Savannah, and donate to a worthy cause which affects each of us on one level or another.
The event is designed to bring awareness to the ever growing population of Veterans in Georgia requiring continued long term care, and shelter while providing a means to assist in the building and sustainability of the long term care facility Serenity Gardens of Savannah, Inc.
The event starts on Saturday morning with local celebrities flagging them off and welcoming riders back to the finish line. The route is filled with many turns and hills, giving riders of all levels a bit of a challenge.
We want to bring excitement for the racers and provide a great atmosphere for the spectators to see
what this ride is all about. According to the Executive Director of Serenity Gardens, Angela Williams “We hope to encourage riders to plan their season around the ride; we hope that the event will the highlight of their 2014 season.
