Healthy Savannah has recently been approved to be apart of the Mini Grant Program. They will accept applicants who’d like to co-promote Healthy Savannah’s mission of encouraging residents to move towards healthy lifestyles. During the following year Healthy Savannah mainly wants to focus on projects that:
1. Increase number of active community environments-Utilize urban planning approaches that promote physical activity
2. Increase access to Health-Promoting Foods-Increase access to fruits and vegetables consumed by community residents.
3. Increase number of people who have access to low cost or free recreational opportunities–Increase community ownership, involvement in, and use of public facilities by establishing Adopt-A-Park Volunteer Program.
If selected to receive a Mini-grant the maximum amount that can be received is 1000$. The deadline to apply is July 27, 2015.
