Diabetes Empowerment Education Program Peer Educator Training

Learn how you can become a Peer Educator and empower seniors in your community with the tools to manage diabetes. Become certified for the Diabetes Education Empowerment Program, a self-management education (DSME) curriculum developed and licensed by the University of Illinois, Chicago at this FREE three-day hands-on training!
This FREE peer educator training is 20 hours, over the course of three days, Feb 15-17. At the end of the training, participants will be prepared to deliver an evidence-based, diabetes education curriculum developed at the University of Illinois-Chicago through a six session workshop to seniors in their communities. Peer Educators are provided materials and ongoing support to provide this training in their community.
